The Empowered To Connect Simulcast — a two-day conference designed to help adoptive and foster parents, ministry leaders, churches, and professionals better understand how to connect with “children from hard places” in order to help them heal and become all that they can be.
The conference features Dr. Karyn Purvis and is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors, therapists and others.

FAQ’s
What is the cost of Childcare?
Childcare is being provided free of charge by Channel Islands Social Services. However space is limited so make sure and sign up right away.
Will snacks or food be provided for the Children?
Parents should pack two snacks and a lunch for their children as well as a water bottle. Please label your child’s bag and water bottle with their name. Children will be picked up by their parents for the lunch break each day. Parents must stay at the event location while their children are checked into childcare.
Will food be provided for Adults?
A light breakfast, coffee, water and light snacks will be provided throughout the day.
We are working on providing some lunch options at the event location to purchase and will post updates here. However there are many restraunts within a close proximity to the event location. A list will be provided at check in if requested. If you do bring your own pre-packed lunch there is a room with tables and chairs provided for you.
How can I volunteer to help?
We would love to have volunteers! Faith in motion is comprised entirely of volunteers from diferent faith based organizations in Ventura County and this event is run entirely by those volunteers. If you would like to help and volunteer for this event click here
